隶属法国外交部的对外贸易和吸引外资办公室负责人3日在接受欧洲新闻电台采访时表示，周二生效的反超快时尚法“不具歧视性”，其主要目的是“保护环境和消费者”。中国商务部新闻发言人黄玲9月3日在例行新闻发布会上作出回应时说，中方认为，法国当局假借“环保”和“可持续”之名，采取双重标准，违反世界贸易组织的非歧视原则。

中方敦促法国当局立即停止实施有关措施。

对外贸易和吸引外资办公室负责人对欧洲新闻电台表示：“与法国、欧盟保持平和关系以及良好的民用贸易关系符合包括中国在内的各方利益。”法方还表示：“法方确实听说中国感到有针对性。我们当然愿意与他们讨论，搞清楚中方为何说有针对性。[...] 如果中国有任何技术建议，完全有权提交给世贸组织”。

接受欧洲新闻电台采访的法国对外贸易和吸引外资办公室负责人还表示：“法国议会拥有主权，并且已经表达了意愿。已通过了这项法律，我们将充分尊重议会决定。对主权国家地位的质疑、发出威胁是胁迫，是经济报复。但就目前而言，这仅仅是一种威胁”。

中方态度较强硬。中国商务部新闻发言人黄玲3日在例行新闻发布会上表示，法国当局立即停止实施有关措施，并通过平等对话，妥善解决双方在可持续纺织贸易领域的分歧，为中国企业营造公平的市场环境。

中国外交部发言人也警告，如果法国继续这么做，中国将采取必要行动，以维护企业的合法权益。
